In a battle of Baltimore, Maryland, squads, St. Frances scored a 68-55 victory over Mount St. Joseph to take home the consolation bracket championship at the 2009 Beach Ball Classic.

The Panthers (9-5) led from the opening tip and built leads as large as 23 points in the second half.  Mount St. Joseph (12-2) closed the gap to seven points at 57-50 with 2:49 nto play, but St. Frances held on by connecting on 8-of-12 free throws in the final 1:30.

St. Frances was led by Wayne Sparrow's 20 points.  Eric Atkins paced Mount St. Joseph with 17 points and five steals.
